Exhausted from cleaning

Spring Break was filled with Spring Cleaning - Closets and bedrooms took up most of the time. Hanna learned she really did fit in the closet -We are excited that school will be starting back on Monday and we can take a break. Keith was off and we got tons of yard work done as well.

Hello from Utah!

Nellie and Katy both went to prom yesterday. Rog wanted to go with them! Unfortunately, the boys didn't think that was a great idea.

Mckay officially is Moab-ready on his mountain bike. He took his first trip with Rog last week.

This is a picture of the girls on Samantha's 20th birthday and Katy's 16th.
Now that Nellie will help me upload pictures, maybe we'll post more often. Love you all!

another picture ot our adventure

I don't know how to put on more than one picture so here is another one and that will have to do

Val

Last Saturday, March 15, Stephanie, Emily, Olivia, Roy and myself, went rock climbing. It was at fish creek which is on the back road between Canyon and Apache Lake, (if any of you remeber a trip to Mesa on that road you will remember it is really curvey) Fish creek hill is where most of the accidents are because the road is narrow and trailers with campers and boats have a hard time getting through. Believe it or not it is still a dirt road. We climbed 150 feet to a ledge and then had a picnic, of sausage, cheese and crackers. Roy cllimbed up another 100 feet. You could climb all the way to the top which had a small cave, but we ran out of time. Then we rapeled down the 150 ft. Olivia was the first kid over, she didn't have a trace of fear in her eyes. A real tropper, and her older sisters weren't about to be out done by her. Ty you would have loved it, we thought of you the whole time we were climbing. I am telling you spring break is lots better than Christmas break for climbing. So Ty just know your always invited. (As is anyone else who wants to try, we have a connection with a guy you has ropes, helmets, and shoes for every size of kids and adult)

Susan & Mark house addition

Here is the Lee's house.

Here is where they are prepped to pour cement to add on to the foundation for the new addition.

This is taking place on the left side of the top picture.*

Same thing different view.

Here is how much concrete they had to take out in order to start the addition to the house.

Their property goes almost to the house the the middle of the background. *

* These facts are from the mouth of Papa (aka. Boss Hog) and he will be glad to verify them at your request. We do not claim to have a first hand knowledge of the property in question, only the residents whose names are on the title. For further inquiries please contact these residents. The Lees hope to soon be able to post their own information on the blog, as soon as they get the kids home from college who are able to do this, or are able to get technically savvy.

Mom's First Broken Arm I remember

November 1968, the day before Thanksgiving, mom fell off the front porch and broke her wrist. The front porch was not even a high porch. Mom was expecting Cathe so they kept her in the hospital. I came home from school and the neighbor lady told me about mom andher arm. Dad came home from work early.

On Thanksgiving Day dad tried to cook us thanksgiving dinner. He put the turkey in the oven and told Mike and I when to turn it off. He then went to the hospital to visit mom. Of course some of the younger kids were bad and because of that Mike and I forgot to turn off the oven. Dad came home three hours after the oven should have been turned off. He asked us if the turkey was done. We looked at each other and realized what we had done. Dad ran toward the oven. I asked if the turkey was ruined. Dad said it will be burnt black. When we retieved the turkey from the oven, it was done to perfection. Mike said he knew all along that the turkey needed to be cooked longer.

The arm break was serious because mom had the cast on for three months or so. She got it off right before we moved to Snowflake.
