Hey we have started thinking about food and what to cook so I was wondering if we could get a head count from the head of each family. I know some aren't planning on coming and was wondering who they were and if the married/collage kids were coming and if we should plan on them.
Thanks if everyone just replies in the comments it will make it easy i think
Btw the shaws are 2 adults and 5 kids yes collin eats more then kirsten or zoe at this point so i would count him as a kid

Wonderful Baptism
So we had a grand, and wanted to thank everyone who was able to come to June's and Maddison's baptism. We had lots of family, fun and food. As far as I can tell nobody or nothing was permanently damaged, and Carra escaped without cake being thrown at her. I may not have won on the Wii, but my capture the flag team only lost one time. Thanks all of you for making it a special day! Cathe

Directions for June and Madison's Baptism
For anyone who is coming to the baptism on Saturday at 10am, I thought I would send you some directions:
After you pass Dewey, on HWY 69, you want to take a right at Fain Rd (which become AZ-89 Alt). This is at a stop light after you pass the View Point Subdivision, I would guess 3-5 miles before Prescott Valley. This will wind along the backside of Prescott Valley and Prescott. You want to take a left at the Pioneer Parkway exit/stoplight. This will take you to Willow Creed Road. When you see the car dealerships look for the light at Sandretto Drive. Take a right on Sandretto drive and this will take you right to the Stake Center.
If you want to mapquest it for yourself the address is: 1101 Sandretto Drive, Prescott, AZ
My address is: 464 N Granada Dr., Prescott Valley, AZ
To get back to my house after or before the baptism you will return to the AZ-89 ALT-(or Pioneer Parkway it getting on in Prescott) Take a right at the Glassford Hills exit. Take a left at Spouse Dr. A left on Spring Rd, and then a right on Granada Dr.

Successful parenting
So tonight as I was tucking Aiden into bed I was discussing with him about the load of clothes he had failed to fold ALL DAY, and how he had to fold clothes everyday until he did it correctly (really he only has to fold two loads, and as you all know that doesn't cover it all, and the quality it pretty questionable when it is done). I explained that everybody does a little so mom doesn't have to do it all. Then I went on to explain that I had him do chores so that when he was big and lived by himself, and had to do all the chores, then he would know how. I immediately knew I was wrong when terror streaked across his face and he started bawling. He was sobbing hard as he said, "I don't want to live without you." Needless to say even after I explained that he could always live with me and dad, I still had to hold him until he fell asleep, still crying. All in all I think I was successful in traumatizing my child, and now I will go fold some clothes.

Summer Fun
The kids are busy with swimming and baseball. Swim Team is keeping Marie, Hanna, and Vashtia very busy. Vashtia is also in the championship Minor Girls fast pitch game on Friday. We will be glad when the week is over. We are looking forward to seeing all the cousins at the baptisms or at the family reunion. Summer time just seems to fly by. We miss everyone.
New Snowflake Temple President
President Lewis Tenney and his wife Mary have been called as the New Snowflake Temple President. They will take over in November. We can not believe it is time for a new President and Matron.

Jake Flake passing
I thought that since he was a Stake President to a lot of us that I would let all of you who are out of the area know. The way I found out was the news on the local radio station. They posted an article about it on their website.

On another note I will not make it to the reunion as I have a new job and no time off yet. Let me know what you need me to do to help out with the groups and I can send stuff with Holly or Val.

Reunion updates
Ok slow would be an understatement, but thats how I function now days.....
Concerning the reuinion....
Meal assignments are as outlined
Thursday dinner- Mike, Keith and Susan
Friday dinner- Valerie, Brian and Jennefer
Saturday dinner- Cathe, Paul, Aaron, and Holly
Sunday brunch- ( like bagels, cream cheese and fruit, somthing simple) Mom and Dad
After you have figured it out with your group, let me know what you are planning on cooking so we don't have hamburgers three times....
Rumor has it that some of you aren't going, (sorry to hear that, I understand that some times things come up) but if they are in your group, sorry!!!! work it out, or pick on another group memebber to help if you need to. We are only cooking dinners together, so you are in charge of your own lunch and breakfast.
Friday and Saturday we will have a family program. This can be relay games, skits, planned stories, etc. I've thought of everything from assigning everyone a skit which is always enlightening and fun, to rolling can's to making ice cream. It can be what ever you want it to be. So as a group you are to come up with what you want to do or what you want the rest of us to do. Just remember that if you ask everyone else to do something we expect you to do it too.
Friday programs- The Odd numbered kids, Mike, Susan, Brian, Cathe,Aaron
Saturday progam- The Even numbered Kids, Keith, Valerie, Jennifer, Paul, Holly
Sunday morning- Mom and Dad
If people in your group are not attending you can still ask them to contribute in some fashion.
There is plenty to do in the area and I hope some of you have been doing your homework. You can hike, do some river riding, sightseeing in Durango, etc. But the price of gas may keep us pretty close by.
My original idea was to go to the indian ruins that are close by on Friday and play at the lake on Saturday. Whatever, we can flip a coin if you want.
Mike if you could look to see if there is a small hike around for us to do that would be great.
I personally am just excited to see all of you and visit, we just don't get together enough. Thank you for being patient and thank you for coming. The price of gas makes it a small sacrifice for all of us.
Love ya all
